“We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams…”
      -Arthur O’Shaughnessy

J Harker (yes, just J) has been practicing various modalities of massage since her graduation from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in 2006. Before relocating to the Seacoast area and joining GLOW, J enjoyed her private practice on Cape Cod.

She has taken a variety of Continuing Education Courses including Thai Massage, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), Neck Specific, Trigger Point Therapy, Reiki, and pre & post-natal massage. She offers a unique combination of these teachings to give an individualized experience tailored to the client’s specific needs. Her offerings can include Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sustained Compression, Stretching, and Breath Work. With her prenatal massage clients, she offers the option of a “pregnancy pillow” allowing the client to lay prone if beneficial for the client. J encourages her clients to voice their needs before and during their sessions, and provide feedback to ensure the best therapeutic experience possible.

As a previous doula as well as a yoga teacher and student, J understands the importance of whole care – the mind, body, and spirit connection. She believes whole-heartedly that massage is a beautiful way to complement a yoga practice.

J uses synchronized breath along with nurturing pressure and movement to bring about increased body awareness.
In her daily life, J enjoys cooking, creating art, and quality time with her infant daughter, husband, and two teenage boys.
